J. Edgar's grave should have a public urinal installed atop it. Because this shit goes all the way back to him.

The Fibbies also swore in Waco that their snipers hadn't shot anyone.

One sniper post was manned by Horiuchi. The Rangers found spent casings consistent with FBI issue sniper rifles in that sniper post, and requested Horiuchi's weapon for testing.

When they got it it had been re-barreled.

Don't forget Whitey Bulger. They put another man in jail for his crimes, and supported him in continuing to murder people.

As a US Army Counterintelligence Agent, we were taught to never, ever trust the FBI. Even their crime lab people have turned out to be remarkably, shall we say, unreliable.

Well, you and I certainly are on the same page about the Federal Bumbling Imbeciles. When the Branch Davidian compound went up in flames, I was on the phone with my friend Nick and had CNN on in the background. Our conversation was interrupted by me shouting “Dear God, they're burning them alive!” And not one Fed went to jail. Reno collected her pension as a free woman.

There is a Reason Local Yokel Cops refer to the FBI as "Federal Bureau of INCOMPETENTS." Every time, every damn time the Febbies showed up in my area, we would sigh, let them fuck things up royally and then go in behind them, soothe feathers and make the Right Arrests.

You mentioned this on yesterdays podcast, but I didn't get a chance to read it until this morning. I can only hope Kash Patel can turn the FBI around, but their history of malfeasance is daunting.

I’ve always thought the FBI could be a useful agency, if they tried to live up to their publicity. Sadly, there has never been an era where they did for any length of time.

Jimmy Akin's Mysterious World had a pretty thorough couple of episodes on the Waco siege mess. He is polite in his delivery but I think it's quite obvious who the real villains were: the government reps there to help.

It goes much wider than the FBI. US Marshal's service went after Gordon Kahl and his family knowing he would likely shoot it out with them. Got people killed and railroaded into federal prison, all because the "new" marshal wanted to make a name for himself. I'm not a fan of Kahl, but the US Government set him up.
