Barack Obama got no push back because he was BLACK. He could have started a harem in the west wing and the slobbering white worshipers would have said, "Can we send you our daughters and sons?" Bush was an oil loving dipshit. Biden was a career politician, and therefore a thief and a liar, long before he became vice president or president. Bill and Hillary Clinton have connections to all sorts of verifiable stories about their escapades in Arkansas and Washington, and were and are lying, self serving sacks of s***. The biggest difference I see in Trump is when you peel back any layer of the onion, you find someone trying to make things better for All Americans. Is he an authoritarian? In every way. But when lives are on the line, I want a sheriff with a badge AND A GUN, who when his elected period is up, passes the gun and badge to the next sheriff encumbered with 'keeping the peace' and the citizens safe. A good portion of the American people are no longer willing to put up with the namby pamby BS of Washington. I'm one. So I hope all the rioters and stupid ass protestors either shut up or get shut up. Go home you ignorant F*** and burn your own houses, cars, and businesses in protest. My money, and that is what all of this is really about, says that by Trump's end of term, things will be a lot better than the whiny minority think ... although I truly doubt they will care. You are not the only one who gets irritated and says something.

The fun part comes in about 9-10 years, when the media starts comparing the radical politics of the latest Republican candidate to the reasonableness of Trump. Kinda like how W is now seen as Mr. Reasonable Republican in comparison to the ebil Trump.

So far I've missed anything that 47 has done that has been unconstitutional if you use the actual constitution vs the fever dreams of leftist "judges". I will wait for examples and gladly be instructed.

Amen, Ian. Of course, any pointing out of this hypocrisy is simplistically equated to a defense of the current president, when it isn't necessarily that at all. If you don't stand for something consistently, regardless of which team has the ball, if you think nothing of your team doing something but rend your garments in outrage when the other team does the same thing, then you have little credibility with me. So tired of this partisan hypocrisy...

The arguments I have read for the various EOs is that "SOMETHING MUST BE DONE!" and we can't wait for the process. Both sides keep forgetting how that will get used against them.

In a more ideal world (Say that one our Esteemed Scribe wrote about him being President), Congress would be locked in their chambers with a set of one page laws that get voted on. Don't finish the votes? Get comfortable because you aren't leaving until things are done. And afterward, the President gives a yay or nay.

Papal conclave rules would be good. Here's your agenda- you'll be locked in without access to the outside world, and you don't get out until you vote on everything.

Send it to the Senate, same rules.

Hm. Do we allow them to have food delivered or do we treat it as motivation to do their job?

Tasting History had a video on that. Apparently, if things went on too long, they changed the diet to just bread and water.

The classic moral imperative is that good is good & bad is bad no matter who does it.

I wonder how many people clutching pearls about yesterday's parade would be clutching those same pearls if it had been under Harris' administration- if they would have done the same?

Presidents— every President — is going to act like this until Congress takes back it's authority and passes legislation. Obama started it, and congress hasn't done anything to stop it.

It's because they're okay with it and we haven't held them responsible for not doing their jobs.

Unfortunately, way to many people on both sides of the aisle have wanted a king since we first elected a President. And, way to many of the Presidents we have elected have been very willing to take on as much of the powers of a king as they can get away with. Lincoln, FDR, Bush 2, Obama, Biden (his handlers), and Trump all come to mind.

To the Other Side: Boo, hoo, hoo! We now have the playground and the ball. We get to call the game as you did from 2020-2024. And 2007-2016. And previous periods of time before that.

Get over it. Quickly. You are annoying us.

The trick is to not do things that will pass the ball to the other side- again.

But Team D has added the Autistic Libertarian Playbook of Screeching Moral Purity to their tactic of Screaming "Fascist" at Stuff They Don't Like, so they're trying hard to keep from getting back into power.
