Doing The Honourable Thing
Not in Britain's repertoire anymore.
Well, seems that Great Mediocre Britain is continuing its slide into obscurity and irrelevance.
I admit it is somewhat depressing to have a ringside seat at the destruction via self-loathing of one of the great Empires of history.
If you think I exaggerate, google “British Museum” and see how much whinging, snivelling, and garment-rending British “scholars” are indulging in regarding “stolen artefacts”.
Uh huh. You know what happens to “repatriated” artefacts?

So far, religious fanatics haven’t gone running into the British Museum with sledgehammers because pre-Islam artefacts are heresy.1
Yes! Let us tear our shirts and “repatriate” priceless artefacts back to countries where the locals can get all worked up into a lather and fervently destroy those priceless artefacts in the name of relgion!
Pfagh.
A far worse consequence of this self-loathing is the wanton destruction of innocent lives.
Thousands — if not tens of thousands — of children across the British Isles have been sexually assaulted, groomed, and forced into prostitution. This has been sweeping across Albion for decades — from the 1990s to the 2010s2.
To add insult to injury the children who made outcries, and tried to get help and rescue … were ignored, ridiculed, and in several cases literally handed over to their rapists by the authorities.
Why, you ask? Because the people in power, the people entrusted to defend the defenceless, and the people tasked with upholding the law …
… Were scared of accusations of being “Islamophobic”.
They ignored credible allegations of rape, they closed their eyes and ears to the cries of the victims, and they outright facilitated the on-going abuse, because apparently not called “Islamophobic” is so much more important than defending the innocent, and protecting the helpless.
The sheer level of fury merely typing that sentence raises in me is staggering.
Last year a 12-year-old Scottish girl was recorded brandishing an axe and knife while warning the persons recording to stay away from her sister, and alleging grooming.
The 12-year-old was arrested. Months later, in the same town — in what the Scottish police insist is an unrelated incident3 — a couple matching the description of the persons recording were arrested for sexual grooming.
As I point out in a previous essay on this subject: If you can’t provide the minimal government function of protecting the innocent — why are you permitted to continue taxing the citizenry? Why are you allowed to draw taxes to fund a contracted service that you refuse to provide?
The latest oopsie to involve the Brit government landed on their current BM PM Kier Starmer.
In December of 2024 BM PM Starmer decided to appoint one Peter Mandelson as UK Ambassador to the U.S. As soon as the appointment was announced a whole bunch of junior ministers saying, “Umm .. not good” followed up by the Security Service doing a background check that … “raised concerns”.
“Concerns” apparently being code for “Had on-going and enthusiastic friendship with Jeffrey Epstein.” ‘On-going’, because said relationship continued well past Epstein’s 2008 conviction for “Procuring Person under 18 for Prostitution” and “Felony Solicitation of Prostitution”; and ‘enthusiastic’ because Mandelson seems to have provided confidential and secret British government documents to Epstein, as well as advance knowledge of banking actions which gave Epstein a considerable financial advantage over anyone else.
And then US Department of Justice released the Epstein emails.
Whoo.
Starmer has fired Mandelson, but is apparently annoyed that anyone might think he made a mistake or error by appointing the little bugsnipe.
I will defer to that noted philosopher Captain Edmund Blackadder as to my thoughts on the matter of BM PM Kier Starmer in particular, and the government functionaries of Great Mediocre Britain who failed the children in the name of Political Correctness in general:
A pox on all their houses.
Ian
So far. Watch this space.
Allegedly. I’ll guaran-damn-tee you it’s still going on in the 2020s.
The Scottish authorities hastened to remind the public — with warning of dire consequences — about “drawing incorrect conclusions”.

"Doing the honourable thing""
IMO Nobody in Europe is doing the Intelligent Thing.
The element which disgusted me the most about the Muslim grooming thing was the snobbery displayed on the part of the British authorities, such as they were - they did not care because most of the girls so abused and exploited were working-class or poor - and many were (from what I had gathered) in foster-care, or in some kind of group home. The whole "not-our-kind-dear" and "Must not upset the Muzz and be seen as raaaacist!" was absolutely disgusting. It was also speculated in some of the accounts that I read, that elements of the local police were in on the whole exploitation thing. That they were being paid to look the other way, or paid by participating in the abuse.
