Well written and comprehensive. This gets shared as far and wide as I can. Another small point: we now influence 80-90% of the oil that China purchases. That affects their nasty plans for Taiwan in the way we want them affected.

Thanks for the superb post.

Long, long, long overdue. I was at the end of my first enlistment when the Iranians overran the American embassy and took so very many of the folks there hostage. And I remember all and more of that Ian listed, of the Iran-sponsored incidents of terrorism, in the years after that. Why, yes - I spent almost twelve years stationed in Europe during the 1980s - and I spent a lot of that time looking nervously over my shoulder.

I'm surprised you missed this one:

1979: IRGC invaded the US Embassy in Tehran.

That was in part one - it turned out to be a very long list.

I was in Dhahran/Khobar Towers in 1996, and lost “my stuff” (mostly replaceable) and FOUR of my very good friends and suitemates (including roommate and another kid I had trained when he first showed at the unit) in that particular act of terrorist cowardice.

Bomb them until the rubble bounces, and then may the Iranian non-nutjob people make of the graves of the guilty a place so reviled that all fear to ever visit.

Remember, when viewing video of events, pay attention to the tell-tale signs of AI-generated content.

Specifically, look for inconsistencies when scenes change or cameras move, that's the easiest method at present. Pay attention to the background to see it it stays consistent shot to shot.

Look at people’s hands.AI has trouble with them. They don’t quite look human. Look at eyes, look at how the light changes, which is hard. AI is fooling a lot of people, it’s getting really good, which is bad for us.

A beautiful side benefit to all this is that the worst people on social media are positively seething with performative rage, and it is GLORIOUS.

Success depends entirely on the Iranian people. If you're an invading force, to win you must seize and hold the enemy's territory. Since we have no force on the ground in Iran, it's up to the Iranian people to do that for us.

During the recent riots, the Basij and IRGC walked into hospital rooms and put bullets in the heads of injured demonstrators. 30,000+ people were murdered as a result of the regime putting down the unrest. And now we are asking the people to rise up again.

If they do, great, and all hail those who step up to the challenge.

I just hope our targeting is focused on the above-mentioned forces that prop up the regime and we sustain that to the point that the facade cracks and the cascade begins that brings these animals low.

The brutal truth is this and we know it from personal experience: "Every country has the government it deserves." - Joseph de Maistre/Alexis de Tocqueville/ Thomas Jefferson (variously) Best of luck to any of the good guys in Iran.

And expect attacks stateside, in the same pattern as Oct 7 or William Forstchen's book *Day of Wrath.* Bill Buppert @cgpodcast has a series of episodes on this.

Also, the Chinese apparently consider Iran to be an ally, and have recently been circumstantially linked to agro-terrorism and ad-hoc biological and chemical weapons labs. Food for thought.

I'd read Forstchen's "Day of Wrath" right after it came out (I was impressed with "One Second After"). Utterly nauseating both for the things that were outlined in the book, and how easy it would be for a nation-state to pull off. Mr. Forstchen wanted it to be a wakeup call, and the Federal government was asleep at the switch until Jan 25.

See also Kurt Schlichter's "The Attack" as well.

Stay frosty indeed.

And while folks are about the business of sending all those mullahs, etc., off to visit with Shaitan, how's about we do it with a chunk of pig leather in their hot little hands, to deny them ever getting near their version of Paradise? Huck the lot of them into their version of the fiery pits and be done with them, I say.

I've NEVER forgotten or forgiven 9/11. I was a young single mother at the time, and my first instinct was to protect my children...who were in lockdown at school so I had to rely on the proxies via school staff to do so. I couldn't get to them fast enough when they were released. Thousands of American lives were lost that day, and while being devastated by that, I still had to work and worry about my kids. My innocence in the ways of the true evil in this world ended thoroughly that day, and I've never forgotten the lesson or forgiven those involved.

Granted, "not every Muslim is bad," but that's like saying not every N**i was bad, either. Not every apple in the barrel has to be bad to spoil the lot for everyone. And there have been plenty of bad ones to cause the rest to turn my stomach. I am an old lady, and I can only hope that the lot of them are sent to perdition before I shuffle off this mortal coil. I'm a Christian, but even a Christian has limits. I'll let God judge me for my feelings on this matter, and take whatever He deems fit to punish me with.

Hitting the Sunni nations isn't going to help. The Sunni leadership has been looking for an excuse to unalive every damn Twelver on the planet since the Battle of Karbala.

"...isn't going to help..."? Karbala 2.0 would be a gobsmacking godsend by golly, Lloy. ☺

Eliminate the mullahs and IRG. Let the people restore their nation. I suggest reverting the country's name back to Persia, to put a definite end to "Iran".

Dale Flowers's avatar

Sure, it'd be good for the world to see the mullahs go, for Islam to become as mellow as the Mennonites but are we targeting the mullahs, or just the infrastructure that supports Iran's nuclear weapons ambition? If the ROE limits the killing of mullahs, clerics, military & governmental foot soldiers, apparatchiks and cheerleaders the mission goal of thwarting Iran getting nukes won't likely be accomplished, just delayed. The more brutal our campaign the more, I think, we harden the hearts of all Iranians. We unify them. I just don't think that we can get the collective will of DC and the American people behind an unrestricted Curtis LeMay style battle strategy. We haven't the stomach for it. I wish we did. History since 1945 says we don't. But, yeah, Ken..."Eliminate the mullahs and IRG". Spot on. Root & branch.

And wipe out as many Basij as possible, too.

Dan Poore's avatar

"Iran" dates back, in its current state, to 1935.

I can understand the notion of wiping "Iran" from existence, but it's still a functional label regardless of what the past half-century of a-holes have been doing in its name.

As a valid threat to Islamics, Arthur MacArthurs' order as Governor of the Phillipines about the Islamic Moro terrorists comes to mind.

"Any Moro killed attacking us will be buried in the skin of a pig, with his feet towards Mecca."

This, and a return to .45 LC revolvers until the 1911 was distributed, contributed much to peace in the Phillipines at that time.
