With the recent flood of illiterati with their newly-printed diplomas from the University of Google in Foreign Relations — absent any, you know, minor in history or anything — the nightmares have been letting me have about two hours of sleep a night.
I’ve zorched Facebook off of my phone, as well as X/Twitter. I’ll be able to access both at The Blanket Fort, but that’ll probably only be about three days a week. And when I do, I’ll probably mine the Memories function for Notes fodder, and then dip out.
I had been meaning to wean myself off of the toxic sludge that is social media for a while, and probably should have done so a long time ago.
I’m going back to blogging as my main source of exposure to the world as a whole, only using this Substack account to do so this time, given that Epik did me dirty on the original blog.
I left a note on Facebook, but if anyone’s looking for me, point them this way.
Ian
I would love to see you get lots of cash or jewels or fancy cars or something from the crooks who did you wrong over your original site.
I did a similar thing last summer with my socials. It's helpful. I coached my wife a few days ago to stop reading the mouth foaming news meant to do nothing but keep us clicking and sharing.
Bon chance.
Looking forward to more here.
