Dumb question, @Ian - I saw (and agree) with the comments talking about China in particular being involved behind the scenes. Do you see a major (or mid-level) power getting involved actively if (Lord forbid) it ever gets that far?

Depends on what you mean by "actively". Sending money and undercover advisors? Yes.
Showing up in uniform and kit? Nothing unites warring clans like a foreign invader.
If foreign military openly steps on US soil, things will have progressed a lot further than the scope of this little blog.

I agree that any civil war is bad. What I was hoping for was, when these things start happening it has started
News blackouts
Food scarcity
Black outs or brown outs
Police don’t show up
Corners where people normally hang out are empty
Increased military presence in major cities
A funny, strange eerie silence.
Smoke, is it close to a city? Multiple fires, fire department not showing up, brush fire, or something else.
Kind of what is going on now….to some extent…
